Maclura pomifera, commonly known as the Osage orange, horse apple, hedge, or hedge apple tree is a small deciduous tree native to Oklahoma and Texas. The wood, as exampled here is a uniquely distinctive mellow gold tone. Finished with old world burnished brass handles, this sturdy board (1 1/2" thick) is made even more striking by the "sapwood" strips that run along the board's sides, creating a lovely contrast. 11 1/2" x 17" in size.
